Garritan Instrument not playing in finale playback

JABB and GPO don't have a full set of General MIDI instruments.

Here are a few things unique to using the plugin with Band-in-a-Box ®. We also have an older archived tutorial which describes earlier versions of the products. The Garritan manuals and website have full details on installation and use this tutorial is only intended as a general guide, with some troubleshooting tips and tricks related to PG Music products. For Band-in-a-Box ®, you can use the same information, but there are a few differences. This tutorial describes RealBand, but it is also entirely applicable to PowerTracks Pro Audio. On the other hand, in RealBand (or PowerTracks) you can select a synth for each track individually. The main reason for this is that GPO and JABB don't have a full set of General MIDI instruments, and in Band-in-a-Box ® you can only use one synth for all your tracks. They are most suited for use in either PowerTracks or RealBand (particularly GPO). You can use 'Garritan Personal Orchestra' and 'Garritan Jazz & Big Band' with Band-in-a-Box ® for Windows, RealBand, and PowerTracks Pro Audio.

Choose MIDI/Audio > Reassign Playback Sounds.Choose MIDI/Audio > Play Finale Through VST.Ensure the Sound Maps are listed in the desired order and click OK.The Sound Map Priority dialog box appears. Choose MIDI/Audio > Sound Map Priority.To assign instruments to VST sounds using Sound Maps For older files, you can instantly apply Garritan sounds (GPO, JABB, or any Garritan library offered by MakeMusic) to your Finale document using the Reassign Playback Sounds command. When a Garritan Sound Map is set to the highest priority in the Sound Map Priority dialog box, Finale automatically assigns Garritan instruments to all new scores and all instruments added with the Score Manager. In order to make the process of setting up Garritan instruments seamless and easy, Finale includes Sound Maps that link your document's instruments with all pre-installed VST libraries.
